Do You Like To Write?

Like to write? Love The Tudors? Great! There is a new challenge, called thetudors_las, where you write a fanfic of at least 100 words every two weeks based on a different prompt. Then they get voted on and the person with the least votes is out that week and the person with the most is safe next week. Till you have one author standing who wins! What do you win? A snazzy graphic and a $10 GC to Amazon or Barnes & Noble. You don't even need to be a GREAT writer!

... who will come out on top?

10th-Jul-2008 09:58 pm - Friending Meme & Fic Exchange Poll
I wanted to post about a The Tudors fandom friending meme and a fic exchange / ficathon poll to take if your interested in either.

manly love, tudors manly love
Title: "Open Eyes"
Word Count: 100
Pairing/Main Character: Jonathan Rhys Meyers/Henry Cavill
Author: Andee andee_marko
Feedback/Comments: Yes.
!!!Warnings: Slash. RPS. First time.
Author Note: I like writing RPS, so I stuck with it for this challenge. I like 100 word drabbles because it's interesting to try and actually say something in such a few words.

Warm hands pet his bare skin.Collapse )

Template KEY

Title: The name of your drabble.
If your drabble is deliberately untitled, please call it "Untitled, #_."
(The use of a numbering system makes it easier for others to refer to it.)

Challenge: Challenge #

Word Count: Your exact word count.

Fandom: If you're posting a crossover with another fandom, you need to add this fandom (or ship) line, please. Please use the FULL NAME of any fandom(s) you're referring to. Thanks!

Pairing/Main Character: The full names of the main characters included in your drabble.

If you wish, you can also include an 'Actor' line where you can tell people what actor portrays each character included in your work. (This applys only to 'fictional' -- non-RPS -- fanfics.)

Note: Using the full names of fandoms, characters and actors makes it easier for everyone. Not all members will be familiar with every fandom or every character.

For our template purposes, RP (real people) are viewed as 'characters.' Include RP names beside 'Pairing/Main Character.'

Author: Your author name.
This can be your LJ username, or any other name you like being referred to when writing fanfic (or both). Please include an author name with all work shared.

Feedback/Comments: Yes or no.
If you prefer NOT to receive comments to your drabble, please say NO after 'Feedback/Comments.'

NOTE: Do NOT disable comments -- in the event a maintainer wishes to post something (non-critical) regarding your work. Thanks.

!!!Warnings: Any necessary warnings.
Please read this for detailed information regarding warnings. Thanks!

Author Note: Any short note you wish to include. (Save longer notes for UNDER the cut, please. Thanks.)

A short author note might include the use of a beta (if any), a first-time post to the community, a first-time ever drabble, etc.

Again, it's fine for you to use your own template -- and/or additional areas (lines) -- under the cut at your own discretion.

If you have questions, feel free to contact us! You can find out contact info by checking the COMMUNITY RULES.

Thanks for your cooperation!

the tudors, tudors

1. Keep it friendly, please. Drama can get you banned.

If you have an issue with another member, bring it to the mods -- don't get into a back-and-forth 'comment war.' The final decision about banning rests with the moderators -- and we really hate being pushed to ban members!

2. All drabbles need to be posted using a TEMPLATE. Feel free to use the following example:

NOTE: Your template should be posted outside an lj-cut tag. The actual drabble should be posted behind the lj-cut tag. We prefer the above template be posted OUTSIDE the lj-cut tag, as this allows readers to see in advance if the content might be objectionable (such as slash, character death, het, etc.).

Don't understand about the template? Please READ THIS KEY to the template example.

Want to gack (grab) this code? It's easy!

Right-click INSIDE the above box -- pick 'Select All.'

Right-click again and pick 'Copy.'

Go to your own document or blog -- right-click and pick 'Paste.'

Don't forget! 'Spoilers' is an important WARNING for this community.

Want to use your own template? Cool. Just make sure it contains the above info, please. Thanks!

3. Please use the lj-cut tag!

All content except for templates needs to go behind an lj-cut tag. YES, that includes fanfic banners, if you intend to include one. Thanks!

4. Linking to your own journal is fine, but please clearly state you're doing so.

Linked drabbles should not include fanfic/drabbles for other fandoms, please.

Don't know HOW to create the lj-cut tag? Here's the code:

Want to gack (grab) this code? It's easy!

Right-click INSIDE the above box -- pick 'Select All.'

Right-click again and pick 'Copy.'

Go to your own document or blog -- right-click and pick 'Paste.'

5. Avoid 'spoilers'!

What's a spoiler (or spoiling)?

It simply means that you've told details about an episode of the series, potentially spoiling it for others.

If you think you're sharing a drabble (or fanfic banner) that could be considered spoilers, PLEASE put these behind an lj-cut tag. We don't have much tolerance for spoiling and consider this a banning offense -- please don't make us ban you! (See rule #1.)

6. Use an appropriate subject line, PLEASE.

The subject line helps others (and you) be able to locate any given entry with greater ease. Try to use something that describes the content of your post.

An example would be:

Subject: DRABBLE: "Drabble Title" (Challenge #xx)

We all forget the subject line from time to time, so no worries! This certainly isn't a banning offense. But we might comment and suggest a subject line if you forget to include it -- so consider yourself warned about this possibility in advance.

7. We prefer to keep all entries here PUBLIC, so please don't lock/filter (friends only) your entry. Thanks!

Yes -- we will remind you if you forget.

  • Want to mention another LiveJournal member? To LINK to another LiveJournal user, use this code:

Want to gack (grab) this code? It's easy!

Right-click INSIDE the above box -- pick 'Select All.'

    Right-click again and pick 'Copy.'

Go to your own document or blog -- right-click and pick 'Paste.'

NOTE: Replace 'username' with the actual username of the LJ member.

This is handy when referring to drabbles shared by another member, mentioning a member who has betaed your work, dedications, etc.

  • When sharing a link, we prefer you use a text-oriented link. The code would look like this:

NOTE: Change the actual link to the URL you want to share. You can use whatever text you want where the text appears.

Want to gack (grab) this code? It's easy!

Right-click INSIDE the above box -- pick 'Select All.'

    Right-click again and pick 'Copy.'

Go to your own document or blog -- right-click and pick 'Paste.'

  • Please don't change default FONT type and color used for this community when posting. Thanks! And please don't 'center' text. (Centering fanfic banners is fine, though!)
